The article focuses on the analysis of notions such as socio-psychological adaptation and personality tolerance. Adaptation is seen as the process of building up a personality’s social characteristics, providing their standard functioning. Tolerance is seen as a prerequisite condition for a personality’s socio-psychological adaptation, providing coherence of their inner affirmations and facilitating acting in coherence with the social context of interaction with others. The article presents the results of empirical research of interrelation between the indicators of tolerance and those of students’ socio-psychological adaptation, that is, the higher the level of tolerance is, the higher the level of student’s socio-psychological adaptation is.
