Civic Self-identity in the Context of Nonlinear Development of Pedagogical Science

Abstract: 
The article actualizes the problem of developing the structure of civil identity as a component of the personal sphere. The purpose of the article is to substantiate and present the structure of civil self-identity as a phenomenon of the personal sphere. Methodology. The author relied on the methodological basis presented by the systemic and individual approaches. In accordance with the systemic approach, civil self-identity is considered as a systemic formation, the components of which allow reflecting the entire spectrum of qualities and properties of the personal sphere related to this phenomenon. The individual approach emphasizes the peculiarity of civil self-identity, its subjective nature and dependence on the individual qualities and properties of each specific person. It also means using an individual trajectory for each person in supporting and accompanying the development of civil self-identity. To solve the problem considered in the article, the author determined the relevance of the problem, analyzed its state in modern science, the essence of the concepts of “identity” and “self-identity” is considered, a structure of civic self-identity has been proposed, which allows through components (awareness of belonging to a certain society, study of rights and responsibilities, active work, development of critical thinking, acceptance and respect for the diversity of the world, education and self-development, personal self-determination) to reflect the essence and interrelations within this concept. The features of civic self-identity as a personal quality have been revealed.
