Activity-Based Strategy for Developing the Economic Culture of Students at Maritime Universities

Abstract:
Given the current development of the maritime industry and the integration of advanced technological solutions such as digitalization and artificial intelligence, there is a need to modernize approaches to developing the economic culture of specialists in the transport and logistics sector. Transformations in economic policy require professionals not only to possess deep theoretical knowledge but also to be able to make informed decisions under uncertainty and effectively utilize high-tech equipment. The purpose of this article is to analyze and theoretically substantiate an activity-based strategy for developing the economic culture of students at maritime universities, using innovative methods and pedagogical approaches. The methodological basis of the study incorporates the works of leading Russian scholars such as A. A. Avakian, E. M. Dorofeev, A. T. Ibragimov, N. F. Ilyina, A. N. Leontiev, T. V. Loginova, V. I. Lutovinov, S. A. Mukhamedieva, V. V. Popov, A. N. Tomilin, as well as a wide range of methods including comparative analysis, content analysis, modeling, observation, pedagogical experimentation, and analysis of educational products. As a result of the study, a model of an activity-based strategy for developing economic culture in students of maritime universities was developed. This model integrates innovative forms of organizing the educational process aimed at increasing motivation for economic activity and developing basic professional skills. Diagnostic tools for a comprehensive assessment of students’ economic activity and the effectiveness of educational interventions are proposed as pedagogical recommendations. The article concludes by noting that the proposed pedagogical strategy contributes to the development of students’ competencies in management decision-making, economic data analysis, and the effective use of high-tech tools, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in the labor market and ensuring the sustainable development of the maritime industry.
