Professionalization of Tutors in Russian and Chinese Universities

Abstract: 
The purpose of this article is a comparative analysis of approaches to the professionalization of tutors in Chinese and Russian universities. The relevance is justified by the trends in the development of personalized education in modern society, which makes the educational role of tutors especially important. The methodological basis of the research is a systematic approach to assessing foreign teaching experience. The author analyzes the origin and development of the tutor profession in Chinese and Russian higher education. An analysis of the regulatory documents on which the activities of tutors in each country are based has allowed us to focus on the basic requirements for representatives of this profession. The article analyzes the similarities and differences in the specialization of Chinese and Russian tutors, outlines the role of full-time and freelance staff in tutor teams. Considering professionalization as the process of becoming specialists in a particular field, the author focuses on the content of the theoretical and practical training of future tutors at each stage of professionalization. Ways of optimizing tutoring systems and recommendations for developing the professionalism of tutor teams at universities, taking into account the needs of the social development of society in a new era, are proposed. In conclusion, it was noted that Chinese and Russian universities, within the framework of cooperation, should search for effective ways to train tutors and improve their skills.
