MODERN CONCEPTS OF BEHAVIORAL ADDICTION

Abstract: 
The article presents an overview of current research on the problem of behavioral addictions. The author comes to the conclusion that the specific and proven algorithms for diagnosis, prevention and treatment of these conditions is currently unavailable. Prevalence rates vary greatly due to various assessment tools and starting points. Discussion continues to be a question of optimal classification behavioral addictions in DSM-V, the eligibility of their consideration or in clinical disorders, or just as extreme forms of behavior. Considers positive and negative consequences of excessive Internet use, psychopathological content gambling. An analysis of a number of epidemiological studies aimed at finding the diagnostic criteria necessary for the development of prevention programs and therapeutic strategies.
