The Formation of Tolerance in Older Preschool Children in Inclusive Education as a Psychological and Pedagogical Problem

Abstract:
The article raises the problem of the need to form a tolerant attitude towards peers with disabilities in the framework of inclusive preschool education. The objective necessity of educating preschoolers in the spirit of tolerance in connection with the changes of recent decades in the economic, political, cultural life of the country and the actively developing system of inclusive education is substantiated. The purpose of the article is to theoretically and empirically investigate the process of forming a tolerant attitude towards children with disabilities in a preschool organization. Methodology. The analysis of the formation of a tolerant attitude towards peers with special health opportunities according to three criteria: cognitive, emotional and effective-practical. To do this, the following methods and techniques were used: observation; conversation; diagnostic methods for measuring the level of tolerant attitude towards peers with disabilities (a study of emotional interest in a peer on the test “Human Drawing” by K. Mahover, a study of subjective assessment of interpersonal relationships of a child (SOMOR), a sociometric study “Two houses” by T. D. Marcinkovskaya). The results of the study showed the need to search for effective pedagogical and psychological tools for the development of friendly and open interaction of older preschoolers with peers with disabilities. A plan of psychological and pedagogical measures for the further formation of a tolerant attitude towards peers with special health opportunities in the inclusive space of a preschool organization is proposed.
