Psychological characteristics of e-learning

Abstract: 
The article examines the psychological characteristics of e-learning as an activity mediated by information and communication technologies. Previous studies have indicated that learner’s success is influenced by such factors as learning styles, self-directive competencies and motivation. Learner’s personal qualities and peculiarities of their character are also of great importance when it comes to the engagement in the learning process as well as the results of it. Based on the information gathered from the literature and on the results of the empirical studies e-learner’s most important personal qualities and abilities necessary for successful learning in e-learning environment have been picked out and classified. The factors needed to be taken into consideration while creating e-courses have been also defined in this article.
