The article describes the role of computer science as an academic discipline on the development of personal competence in cadetsof military academies. Revealed that the most effective means of formation of personality traits, which are oriented personalcompetence, is the use of active learning methods. The main active learning methods used in various kinds of activities on the subject "Computer science and information technology in professional work" in the Novosibirsk Military Academy of interior troops.
