In article the concept of civic consciousness of the personality acting as a basis of the conceptual and categorial device of many scientific works of a humanitarian profile is considered. Rather comparative analysis of the treatments of the concept "civic consciousness" presented in modern dissertation researches on pedagogical sciences is provided. On the basis of dynamic functional structure of the personality according to K. K. Platonov civic consciousness justification as traits of character is given.
