The paper substantiates the necessity of considering the structure functional analysis of the foreign language position training technology of the students of the technical university. It is outlined that this technology is of great educational value for developing of the communicative competence of the students. The author explains the essence of the position training technology, determines and describes in details the structural components of the technology: conceptual (approaches, principles, the main theoretical aspects of the position training technology, ect.), content-related (syllabus, methods, educational forms), procedural (the steps of the realization of the technology), interprets the methodological, axiological, integrative functions of the technology in the educational process.
