Methodology of the cultural approach in pedagogical research

Abstract: 
The article actualizes the problem of choosing a relevant methodology for pedagogical research. Attention is drawn to the resourcefulness and potential of the cultural approach in education. The purpose of the article is to rethink the cultural approach as a research methodology taking into account the current challenges facing pedagogical science. Methodology. The study is a theoretical analysis of domestic and foreign works of several linguacultural groups that are in the rearguard of the implementation of the cultural approach. The pool of materials consisted of studies selected using the ResearcherGate, eLibrary, Google Scholar databases. The author substantiates the relevance and uniqueness of the cultural approach, illustrates its specificity in foreign educational practices. The work identifies the challenges of implementing the cultural approach in Russia and correlates them with its basic principles. It is concluded that it is the cultural approach that allows for a preventive effect on moral absolutism and negative relativism, eliminating potential conflict in the educational environment.
