The purpose of the article is to reveal the co-existence approach as a method of “pedagogy of living”, its necessary characteristics, conditions for implementation. The main method of research is the analysis of scientific approaches to the stated problem, which in general made it possible to generalize and analyze similar results obtained in pedagogy and related sciences (psychology, philosophy, sociology, physiology), reflection of one’s own experience of work in this direction. Research results. Experience is, first of all, the emotional component of family life; the article reveals important positions that reveal the phenomenon of “living”: features of mutual connections and relationships, psychological closeness within the family, a sense of community between family members, the emotional tone of life within, the psychological climate of the family. The basis of coexistence is the value-semantic interaction between adults and children. The article presents the characteristics of value-semantic interaction: this is the joint interest of the participants in the interaction; openness and trust; interaction should be positional, when each participant can openly and honestly express their position; it must be based on reflective processes. In conclusion, recommendations are presented to parents who are focused on coexistence with their children: organize bright, interesting activities; joyful events; do not evaluate children; make children’s lives varied and joyful; catch and use co-existent situations and be able to create such situations yourself, model the conditions for their implementation.
