INTERDISCIPLINARY COMPETENCES IN THE FIELD OF MATHEMATICS AND NATURAL SCIENCES IN GENERAL SECONDARY SCHOOLS

Abstract:
The paper consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to formation of essential competences concerning an object of studying (a school subject or a discipline) through integrated didactic units of this object. In the previous paper by the author this stage of introduction of the competence approach in educational process has been shown through the basic concepts. Such approach is applicable when small and concrete objects are studied, for example, in mathematics they include divisibility of integers, linearity, quadratics etc. In specified cases, as a rule, one or two basic concepts comprise an essential integrated didactic unit. However, when a wider subject or discipline is studied one or two basic concepts are not enough to form a competence, therefore a more extensive integrated didactic unit is utilized. In the second part is devoted to formation of basic competences through concrete didactic units (Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry general school courses).
Keywords:
competence, competency, integrated didactic units, formation of basic competences, stereometry, biology.
