The State of Physical Health of First-year Students from Different Faculties of Tuva State University

Abstract:
The article considers the results of anthropophysiometric measurements of first-year students of TuvSU living in a region with a complex of negative socio-economic and climatic-geographical factors affecting human health. The purpose of the article is to present the results of screening studies of physical health and physical fitness of TuvSU modern first-year students and compare these data with the results of a survey of their peers in 2013. The research methodology is based on the idea of the unity of morphophysiological indicators and the level of physical fitness as an integral characteristic of physical health, which can be assessed using modern computer technologies. The results of the study. It was revealed that the cardiovascular system, which plays a leading role in the adaptation of the body to various types of influences, has low functional reserves and a higher level of tension in young men. Among students of different faculties, young men of agricultural, physical culture and engineering faculties are the leaders in terms of the integral indicator of physical health, and the lowest indicators were noted among first-year students of the Faculty of Philology, Pedagogical College and Kyzyl Pedagogical Institute. The deterioration of functional indicators characterizing the cardio-respiratory system of modern young men compared with their peers in 2013 with the same level of physical fitness was revealed, which indicates greater stress and a decrease in the functional reserves of the body. The necessity of solving this problem at all levels is substantiated – from government to educational and educational health-saving actions.
