Nuclear Approach to Modeling of Professional Digital Culture of Pedagogue

Abstract:
The article discusses the idea of creating a nuclear model of professional and digital culture of teachers. Goal. This article describes the modeling of a teacher’s professional digital culture in a virtual environment of continuing teacher education. Methodology. Currently, there are a number of problems related to the formation of a teacher’s professional digital culture; there is no generally accepted definition, clear evaluation criteria and a general understanding of the structure of this concept; there is a gap between technological capabilities and teachers’ willingness to use them; many teachers experience difficulties using digital tools, lack knowledge and skills, and also experience resistance to introduce new technologies into their work; the lack of an integrated system for the formation and development of a teacher’s professional and digital culture; еducational institutions lack a systematic approach to teaching teachers how to work with digital technologies, and teachers are not motivated enough to master digital technologies; teachers do not see the obvious advantages of using digital tools, do not feel supported by the administration, and do not have the opportunity to share experiences with colleagues. Solving the above-mentioned problems and developing a model of a teacher’s professional and digital culture is an important and urgent task that requires an integrated approach that includes both theoretical research and practical implementation in an educational institution. The successful formation of a teacher’s professional and digital culture will be the key to successful digital transformation of education and improvement of its quality. One of the modern methodological approaches used in the research is the nuclear approach, which provides a structured and focused approach to the organization of a virtual environment of continuing teacher education and its effectiveness, which in turn facilitates the development of tools for monitoring and evaluating a teacher’s professional digital culture. The result of the research in the field of the formation of professional and digital culture of a teacher was the application of the nuclear model as a useful tool for further assessment and selection of methods for the development of professional and digital culture of teachers.
