FEATURES OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS IN SUNDAY SCHOOLS OF RUSSIA IN THE MIDDLEXIX AND BEGINNING OF XX CENTURY

Abstract: 
The article examines the features of organization of educational process at Sunday schools played an important role in public education in the historical period the middle XIX and beginning of XX century.The author identifies the main parameters characterizing the pedagogical process (the purpose of the establishment of Sunday schools, enrolment, teachers corps, class schedule, school subjects, extracurricular activities), consistent disclosure of which is main content of the article.he specific features of the Sunday schools of the period considered, distinguishing them from other educational institutions, among which we can mention the existence of various age groups, the voluntary nature of the study, admission of students throughout the school year, classes mainly on Sundays, the adjustment of the curriculum in accordance with the needs of students, have survived to our time, which ensured the historical continuity of the activities of Sunday schools.
