Research on Barriers and Factors Contributing to the Implementation of Agribusiness Education in Russian Rural Schools

Abstract:
The article discusses current issues related to the implementation of agribusiness education in Russian rural schools as one of the means to develop the human resource potential of the agro-industrial complex. The aim of the research is to identify the main barriers and factors that facilitate the effective implementation of agribusiness education in rural schools in Russia, as well as to determine ways to overcome existing obstacles. The research methodology includes the analysis of regulatory documentation, program materials, statistical data on the development of agribusiness education in the Russian Federation, and the results of a survey of rural school principals in the Irkutsk region. Key problems in implementing agribusiness education were identified during the study: insufficient material and technical equipment of the educational process, a shortage of qualified teaching staff, limited interaction between educational institutions and agro-industrial enterprises, socio-psychological barriers in the perception of agricultural professions among young people. Particular attention is paid to the problem of digitalization in agriculture and the need to develop corresponding competencies in students. The main conclusions of the research demonstrate the necessity for a systematic approach to solving the identified problems through: regulatory consolidation of the possibility to create agro-classes; development of specialized educational programs; modernization of the material and technical base of schools; professional development of teaching staff; fostering partnerships with agro-industrial enterprises; and the use of digital technologies in the educational process. The practical significance of the research is confirmed by specific examples of successful implementation of agribusiness education in various regions of Russia, particularly the “Entrepreneurial Village” project in the Irkutsk region. The presented experience can be replicated in other regions of the country. The results of the research can be used by education management bodies, heads of educational organizations, methodologists, and teachers in developing strategies for the advancement of agribusiness education.
