The Role of Industrial Practice in the Training of Students in IT Fields

Abstract: 
The article focuses on the development of professional competencies of future IT specialists through practical training at specialized enterprises and theoretical training of students using real tasks. Practical training of students contributes to the development of skills in professional activities. Students learn to work in a team, solve real problems, use modern digital technologies and tools, and adapt to changing requirements in different areas of life. These skills are essential for a successful career in IT. The purpose of the article is to identify and implement practical training opportunities that increase the effectiveness of developing professional competencies of future IT specialists. The methodological basis of the work is: theoretical aspects of the competency-based approach in vocational education; provisions on personality-oriented learning; on the specifics of training students in IT areas. The following were defined as basic theoretical approaches: competency-based approach in vocational education; personality-oriented approach; self-development technologies; free labor, etc. The study included several stages of experimental work on the formation of professional competencies of future IT specialists. At the first stage, questionnaires were developed for surveying students. At the second stage, a survey of first-year students in IT areas was conducted and the results were analyzed. At the third stage, case assignments were developed, classes were conducted using interactive forms, organizations were selected, and long-term contracts with specialized enterprises were concluded. The fourth stage included a survey of students after completing industrial practices and an analysis of the survey results. In conclusion, it is concluded that the organization of practical training at specialized enterprises and the conduct of practical classes with an emphasis on solving real problems aimed at forming professional competencies in students of the experimental group is assessed as a significant phenomenon for the personal and professional development of future IT specialists.
