Special chemistry as a subject studied at Gomel subdivision of university of civil defense of the republic of Belarus

Abstract:
Nowadays the development of modern society is characterized by emergencies breaking out on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and all over the world. The modern period of society development is characterized by a number of emergency situations occurring on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and worldwide. While studying special chemistry, the cadets, future engineers-rescuers develop informal logical thinking and learning activity which are connected with the chemical processes occurring in condition of real fires. Teaching this subject requires continuous improvement of approach to lecture and exercise material. By this time theoretical and methodical aspects of special chemistry teaching have been developed, these are – problem method and case studies, self-instructive work, information teaching and others. This all implies meticulous work of the teacher over the information material and selection of the most important moments in teacher’s work, which are considered in the present article. The formation of comprehensively developed personality is possible only if the teacher and the student work together as a team. It is impossible to achieve the result without dynamic learning activity of the students, their attentive concentration on the subject, their wish to learn the unknown.
