Engineering education reform in mongolia on example the mongolian university science and technology

Abstract: 
The article points out problems of engineering education reform in Mongolia, and accumulated experience of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology in the context of credit system and CDIO (Conceive – Design – Implement – Operate) Initiative implementation. The analysis of documents and researches on higher education reform in Mongolia has allowed us to detect the contradiction between the modern requirements for engineering graduates and their current preparation for engineering practice. The resolution of highlighted the contradictions is possible through improvement the educational process of engineering education institutes on the basis of introduction credit system and CDIO Initiative. The initiatives implementation process in carried out in accordance with the strategic development plan. With the help of CDIO is expecting to restructure the educational process, expand innovation, enhance its interaction with business, improve the quality and efficiency of education and reposition itself in the global educational community.
