PARENTS’ MOTIVATION FOR PRESCHOOLERS’ ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING

Abstract: 
The scientific exposition. The preschoolers’ foreign language learning is a popular direction among parents. The goal setting. The aim of the study is to identify the parents’ motivation level to preschoolers’ English learning and to determine the connection between the parents’ motivation level and preschoolers’ attendance of English lessons. Methodological basis. The methodological basis includes the following researchers, who study the problem of teachers of preschool and additional education interaction with parents: M. G. Agavelyan, S. A. Kozlova, S. G. Schabas, Y. V. Tolmacheva, I. A. Plachkova. Research part. The study was organized in two organizations in Novosibirsk: the kindergarten № 508 combined type “Fairy”, cultural and educational center «Brighton». We have created a questionnaire with 14 questions, revealing different aspects of foreign language learning. The questions are closed and suggest the choice of one of the three proposed answers. The respondents in the kindergarten № 508 “Fairy” are 10 parents whose children do not learn English, and respondents in the cultural and educational center “Brighton” are 10 parents whose preschoolers attend additional English lessons. Research results. The aim of the study is achieved: it is confirmed that the parents’ motivation to preschoolers’ foreign learning is high, whose children attend additional English lessons.
