EVALUATION OF FUNCTIONAL INDICES AND LEVEL OF HEALTH OF STUDENTS IN THE PERIOD OF THEIR ADAPTATION FOR STUDIES IN A COLLEGE

Abstract:
The article deals with an assessment of the functional indices of the body of first-year students in the period of adaptation to learning on the example of the Gorno-Altaisk Agrarian College. The purpose of the article is to reveal the level of health of students in the period of adaptation to college education, taking into account morphofunctional indices. Methodology. The methods of the study were the calculation of the adaptation potential and an overall assessment of the morphofunctional indices for determining the level of health. The study involved fifty-four students enrolled in the first year, aged 16-17. The survey was conducted at the beginning in the first year of study. The level of health was assessed according to G.L. Apanasenko. in points, the adaptive potential was calculated according to Baevsky R.M., the vegetative index was determined. The presented results revealed the features of adaptation taking into account gender, vegetative status, functional indices and health level. It is established that among the students during the first year of training the level of health was lower than the average for both boys and girls. Adaptation potential of freshmen in most cases was satisfactory. The authors believe that it is necessary to optimize the educational process with the selection of forms and methods of teaching that allow to achieve high results in preserving and strengthening the health of students in a short period under the conditions of secondary specialized education. The conclusion of the article concludes that in the conditions of the secondary specialized education is necessary to create favorable conditions for training, optimizing the educational process, including health-saving forms and methods of instruction. The reason for this was that the health of most freshmen in an agrarian college is below average. The evaluation of functional indices revealed that the majority of students, against a background of satisfactory adaptation, noted increased activity of sympathetic regulation of functional processes.
