PROF TATYANA N. TROITSKAYA’S EDUCATIONAL HERITAGE: PECULIARITIES OF EDUCATIONAL PROCESS IN THE GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION (PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY)

Abstract: 
Introduction. The article is devoted to Prof Tatyana N. Troitskaya’s contribution to education. Her talent in science and research, education and research supervision revealed while she was pursuing her academic and scholarly career at Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University. The purpose of this work is to analyze, summarize and present Prof Tatyana N. Troitskaya’s remarkable teaching, academic and methodological experience. She taught Ancient History (Primitive societies, Ancient East, Ancient Rome and Greece), delivered lectures in Archeology, supervised archeological fieldwork and teaching internships, taught Local Studies, Social Ecology, and various special modules and seminars. Results and Discussion. Prof Tatyana N. Troitskaya emphasized the significance of teaching Ancient History, because this academic discipline reveals the logic of historical development, illustrated by facts and examples. According to Prof Tatyana N. Troitskaya, a so called ability to ‘feel’ the audience (build a connection with the audience) plays a significant role in teaching. Being an outstanding educator, Prof Tatyana N. Troitskaya developed an articulate system of teaching various historical and archeological disciplines, designed special modules and courses. Prof Tatyana N. Troitskaya supervised archeological school societies and created special modules and courses to prepare their leaders. Conclusion. Prof Tatyana N. Troitskaya developed her unique teaching style. Studying its peculiarities is useful not only for students of pedagogical universities, but also for teachers, lecturers and academics.
