“THE FIRST BLOW IS HALF THE BATTLE”. TWO MODELS OF THE FIRST HISTORICAL RESEARCH IN SCHOOL OR UNIVERSITY

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is author’s approaches presentation and exposition of practical solutions in research activity organization. High school students and undergraduate (bachelor) students create their own texts of various formats (genres) on regional and local history subject under the guidance of teachers. Methodological basis of the article is system-activity approach in pedagogics. This approach provides student’s personality formation and development by the process of his own activity aimed at “new knowledge discovery”. Methodological developments of modern historical science are also used: the “new” local history, oral history, memory studies. The proposed models of students’ research activity organization cover recording and presentation of elderly people’s memories “about life in the old time” and/or characteristic of specific places of memory of local human communities. The preparatory stage of work at school provides the organization of an elective regional and local history course. The main stage is accomplished in extracurricular time as part of the work of a local history group or club, or, sometimes, individually. At university, both stages are organized within the framework of educational courses with theoretical-methodological and regional historical orientation. The final stage involves presentation of the work results in oral presentations and the publication of the most interesting texts. In conclusion of the article, work results are characterized. These results are understood as satisfactory acquisition level of the basic historian’s work procedures by students and getting experience in value-semantic activity, which has a positive impact on the person’s worldview formation.
