HISTORICAL SOURCES IN EDUCATIONAL COGNITION: DESIGNING THE PLANNED RESULTS OF THE STUDY

Abstract:
The problem and the goal. The introduction of the federal state educational standard of basic general education into the practice of training has revealed the need for detailing the extremely generalized requirements for the results of mastering basic educational programs. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the system of educational activities that make up the ability to work with historical sources in relation to each year of studying history in school. The methodology is represented by a system-activity approach to learning; the conclusions of pedagogical and methodological studies, revealing the structure and logic of the development of historical and cognitive activity of schoolchildren are taken into account. The ability to work with historical sources is interpreted as a component of “educational historical knowledge”, i.e. educational cognitive activity, which is characterized by active and conscious use by students of modern methodology elements of scientific historical knowledge. The article defines the lines of development of the ability to work with sources (increasing the cognitive independence of schoolchildren; complicating the methods of analyzing sources in the logic of “reading” – “commenting” – “interpretation”; expansion of the range and number of historical sources as objects of students’ historical and educational activities; complication of historical material studied on the basis of sources); presents the wording of the planned results from the 5th to the 11th grade. In conclusion, it is learned that the proposed system of planned results of work with historical sources will help schoolchildren to verify the historical information, and the teacher to better develop lessons, correctly carry out diagnostic and evaluation procedures.
