Interdisciplinary integration of knowledge with regard to socialization studies

Abstract: 
The paper deals with interdisciplinary integration in the field of socialization studies. We suggest that socialization should be seen as a complex object. At this point we follow W. H. Newell who argues that interdisciplinarity is necessitated by complexity, specifically by the structure and behavior of complex objects. We also observe the exist distinctions between inter-, trans- and multi- disciplinary approaches – to take the most important categories – and analyze what sort of problems fit their requirements best. We insist that there is a need for more scrupulous and consistent view on these problems within Russian scientific field. Several different kinds of research projects in the field of interdisciplinary integrated perspective on socialization are also considered in the paper along with the basic set of notions, concepts, models etc. Interdisciplinarity as a scientific ideology assume that it can be collaborate or individual projects in the field, with integration models slightly different. We introduce the concept of the prevailing interest as the regulatory principle for interdisciplinary integration. Several approaches to the process of interdisciplinary integration are scrutinized and evaluated from the point of view of subject-matter. We admit at the end that interdisciplinary integration in the field of socialization studies is not that has been practiced well before, but more or less the challenge for the future.
