Psychophysiolo- gical Approach to Health from the Position of Health-Saving Pedagogy

Abstract: 
The article presents the main definitions of the psychophysiological approach to the category "health," which allow to fill the methodology of "healthy-saving pedagogy." The importance of controlling the quality of children 's growth and development and the quantity of their health in the current work of the School is proved. Approaches to the development of methods and means of formation, development and preservation of health of students and pupils of educational institutions are revealed. The purpose of the article is to reveal methodological aspects of health-saving pedagogy with a focus on primary school, to present practical results of many years of implementation of these ideas in school educational institutions of Rostov region. Methodology. The health of the student in the context of the problems discussed is not only a category of medical or philosophical, but rather a psychophysiological one that unites the ability of the child to adequately function and develop in the specified conditions. Health is, first of all, the ability of interacting systems of his body to ensure the implementation of unconditional, instinctive programs, phenotypic behavior and mental activity aimed at the social, cultural, spiritual sphere of life of a child of a specific age period. The article postulates that the category "health" is becoming an increasingly important component of the development of concepts of modernization of the educational system, organization of current work in educational institutions.
