Abstract:
The processes of personality development, socialization and inculturation are directly related to cultural development and educational spaces and inherent in a particular historical era and society. Features and place of the educational space are becoming, in this regard, more relevant. The purpose of the article is to identify the educational space as one of the types of cultural space as well as features of its existence and functioning. The methodology is presented: 1) a phenomenological approach, allowing to identify the boundaries and nature of basic concepts: “cultural space”, “educational space”; 2) a structural-functional approach that predetermined the study of educational and cultural spaces as systemic phenomena from the point of view of their fulfillment of certain functions; 3) an anthropological approach that fixes attention on the semantic phenomena underlying the subjective and group dimensions of cultural and educational spaces. It is concluded that educational space is one of the cultural space forms, and its main property is to transfer social experience. At the same time, the educational space includes various educational environments related to individual characteristics of personality development, which are conscious and unconscious; has a direct impact on the processes of socialization and inculturation, making a person not only a member of a certain society and a representative of a certain culture, but also contributing to the self-development and self-identification of the subject in various situations of interaction. Thus, the educational space is one of the forms of existence of the cultural space, the main property of which is the transfer of social experience.
