In this article process of professional formation of students in higher education institution is considered in a socialization context. Authors describe possible option of a solution of the problem of professional socialization of students of higher education institution in the conditions of modernization of pedagogical education where the defining role is carried out by the program of development of pedagogical education of higher education institution. This program has a main objective – improvement of quality of pedagogical education in higher education institution and includes the following subprograms: "Teaching approaches", " Practical orientation of educational process»", "Professional competence of the faculty", etc. which realization will promote successful professional formation of students of higher pedagogical educational institution.
