Nowadays there are several various ways of stimulating democratic tendencies in managing an educational institution, one of which is to attract teachers themselves to take part in the process of management. The article proves the necessity of forming managerial competence of students at teachers training higher educational institutions. The notion of managerial competence is cleared from the point of view of an axiological aspect. The stages of forming managerial competence of students at teachers training higher educational institutions are stated and characterized. The content of planning the process of forming managerial competence of students which considers the specificity of pedagogical education is defined.
