The reasons for Internet application as effective tool to increase students’ motivation in learning. English for professional communication are described in the article. The project work organization by means of information technology is considered for technical students. Project work is treated in the article as the method of active learning. Also, in the work the advantages of the electronic educational environment MOODLE as example of modern information and communication technology are presented; some characteristics of MOODLE instruments which are widely used for English studies are given.
