The article substantiates the relevance of the interdependence of the values and the personality socialization. Based on the analysis of different approaches to the definition of " socialization», the author justifies the relevance of social and cultural approach. Shows the importance of holistic transformation of modern society and their influence on the process of socialization. Based on the value relevance in the interpretation of ideological diversity, rational and cultural identities, is presented in the article «new» model of socialization. Of particular importance which is given to the action of specialized institutions of socialization - the family and education.
