EDUCATION FOR SUSTANABLE DEVELOPMENT AT SCHOOL: MODELS AND STRATEGIES OF IMPLEMENTATION
Abstract:
The paper examines international practice of Education for sustainable development (ESD) schools. Three dominant models of EfS in existing practice are described and discussed. It is shown that the whole-school model is needed for the EfS to achieve its goals. The paper also discusses the major strategies used in different countries to introduce EfS into schools and considers the ways to adapt them for the Russian educational system.
