In this article there is the analyzed history of the chair of General history, historiography and source study of Novosibirsk State Pedagogical university. The purpose of this article is to reveal the stages of history professorship in connection with basic tendency of Higher Professional Education. The teaching staff is tracked and the managing of the chair at different periods of its existence is characterized. The conclusion is made about organizing unsteadiness of the professorship from 1944 (the first order about a division of the history professorship in two: the professorship of the USSR history and the professorship of general history) to 1964, when two of them divided and united in one several times. From 1964 organizing forms are stabilized. The teaching staff experiences positive qualitative changes. It is characterized modern period of activity of history professorship and main trends of the training specialists, bachelors, graduate students are analyzed.
